An international maritime robotics challenge hosting in Honolulu, Hawaii, the Maritime RobotX Challenge pits teams across the globe against each other in challenges including:
Autonomous maritime navigation including docking
Building and launching an Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV) to conduct underwater recovery
Detect and Deliver a projectile into a target
Virtual RobotX demonstrating competition of the above tasks in a simulated environment
We conduct this team in association with the Australian Centre of Field Robotics (ACFR), learning and building upon their expertise.
2019 - 2020
We return once again to the RobotX competition with the ACFR and have put together a team to compete.
2017 - 2018
The first time USRC has competed in an international competition, the 2018 competition was placed in partnership with the ACFR. Although we did not manage to place in the top five, we received the Judges Special “Buffer Overflow” award with a prize money of $3,500.
Check out the website for the team to learn more about what they achieved.
